"The Strength Coach
Radio Show airs Sunday evenings at 11 p.m. Eastern Time on the Radio America
Network.
This week's show - Dec. 19 Nonstop drive
Ben Comen always finishes last. That's because the high school cross country athlete has
cerebral palsy and walks with an extreme limp. When he competes, he often falls. He scrapes
his arms and knees. He endures tremendous pain. But he finishes every race, always seeking to
improve on his personal best time. When Ben crosses the finish line, teammates, who have long
since finished the race, go back and jog one step behind him as a show of support. The sight
is so moving that people cry. You may have seen Rick Reilly's column about Ben in 2003, or
recent coverage on ABC or ESPN. This week, "The Strength Coach" will pick the brain of this
inspirational icon who is gaining national attention.
