The motto on his Web site says, "If you're not having fun, it's your own fault."
Who/what contributed to your inner strength?
As a child I was diagnosed with scoliosis. I wore a neck-to-hips back brace from the age of 10 until the age of 16. I learned about prejudice, meanness and having to overcome physical limitations at a young age. I learned that people will not always accept me for who I am, the decisions I make or the actions I take.
When in your life was your inner strength particularly tested and how did you deal with the incident?
In the early 1990s I decided it was time to leave a secure corporate job and venture into the world of the entrepreneur. Once again I learned that people will not always accept me for who I am, the decisions I make or the actions I take. Taking steps that seemed right at the moment, asking questions and seeking help of experts made the transition a heck of a lot easier.
What suggestions do you have to help people realize their capabilities?
Just do something. Today. Anything. Take one simple step forward. Now do the same thing tomorrow.
Why is it important to focus on inner strength?
No one else is there to push us along. We are responsible for our own destiny.
What are your next goals and what positive thoughts or activities keep you striving toward your goals?
I’ve got ideas, not goals. Most of my ideas pop up while riding my bicycle - armed with digital recorder in my jersey pocket. With each new idea that pops up I take steps forward. If it feels right, I continue. If not, I abandon the idea.
