Remembering Christopher Reeve
The actor and activist gave
Greg Smith three interviews after he sustained his spinal cord injury in 1995. Now, the Strength
Coach reflects on what he learned from the man we knew as "Superman." On this week's show, Greg
will air interesting observations and insight Reeve shared on "On A Roll - Talk Radio on Life &
Disability." To read an excerpt from Greg's first interview with Reeve in 1998,

"The Strength Coach
Radio Show airs Sunday evenings at 11 p.m. Eastern Time on the Radio America
Network.
This week's show - Oct. 17:
Hope and Passion: Christopher Reeve's dedication to his mission to cure for spinal cord
injuries is an example that we all can learn from about how powerful it can be to focus on a
dream. While he never walked again, he inspired the world to sprint in the direction of a
cure. Tune in to this week's show to hear insight about Christopher Reeve's passion from
Brewster Thackeray of the National Organization on Disability.
We'll also discuss Reeve's final film about
Brooke Ellison, who at age 11 was hit by a car and became a quadriplegic. She went on to
graduate from Harvard. The movie airs nationwide Oct. 25 on A&E.

Personal appeal from Greg Smith: I have made several calls to doctors and to the health
department in Jackson County, Miss. No flu shots are available. I have muscular
dystrophy and a history of respiratory problems, not to mention three children who go to
elementary school every day and might bring home the virus. Two of the past three years, I
have been hospitalized in January. Any advice on how I can get a flu shot would be greatly
appreciated! It is interesting that we can't get pharmaceuticals from Canada at lower prices,
but we depend on England and Canada for our flu vaccinations, huh?
