Happy Mother's Day!
Sunday night on the Strength Coach Radio Show, Greg Smith and his sister Tonya Tetteh will express appreciation and love for their mother, Adelia Smith. They will surprise her with a Mother's Day gift certificate for a free cruise on Carnival Cruise Lines! Don't miss The Strength Coach Radio Show this Sunday at 11 p.m. Eastern Time on the Radio America Network. You'll find yourself inspired by Adelia's story. She is a strong woman who at age 20 was told her baby son would only live 10 years. Thanks to her and her husband Jim's love and nurturing, he is now 41 and has been a source of inspiration for millions. Many years later, Adelia helped her daughter deal with the onset of a disability which caused blindness in one eye. And currently, Adelia's life is filled with the energy gained from her role as an active grandmother of Greg's three children. You'll enjoy this chat with a primary source of The Strength Coach's inner Strength, Adelia Smith.
Greg's First Book Signing in Tampa next Saturday!
The Strength Coach's new memoir, “On A Roll: Reflections from America’s Wheelchair Dude with the Winning Attitude,” is an honest and uplifting story of one African-American man’s quest for independence, love and success. It provides a rare “insider’s look” at the crossroads in America where family, disability, race and inspiration meet. Author Greg Smith will offer his expertise on “inner strength,” hosting a light “workout” at Books For Thought, 10910 North 56th Street in Tampa on May 14 from 4-6 p.m. The session will be a reunion with his many local connections. Smith built a Tampa following in 2000 and 2001, establishing his radio show on Clear Channel’s WHNZ, while doubling as a columnist for a Tampa-based dot-com for people with disabilities.
In the meantime, you can order your copy of his compelling memoir now.
An Honoree visits the National Liberty Museum
On Tuesday, Greg Smith spoke at the Laboratory Products Association in Philadelphia. After the presentation, he and his dad took the opportunity to visit the National Liberty Museum where Greg is featured in the Exceptional Americans Exhibit. They arrived at 5 p.m., which was closing time. The women at the front of the museum were locking the doors. Greg's dad informed them that an honoree was in town and had never seen the exhibit, so they went back inside and talked to management. Moments later, a massive gate opened, leading to a long ramp, giving the Smiths entry for their own personal tour! Once inside, the staff beamed with smiles and excitement that an honoree was actually in the museum. Greg signed autographs on "On A Roll" DVDs which were on sale in the gift shop. They posed for photos with Greg, and allowed them exclusive access to the entire museum. The National Liberty Museum is a must-see in Philadelphia. So is a "Jim's" Philly Cheese Steak, which is what they enjoyed after the museum tour. On Wednesday, Greg gave a presentation to new executives at the United States Postal Service in Washington, D.C.

Greg's travel schedule heats up with the spring and summer temperatures. Next week, he will be making a return to Tampa, Fla., to keynote at the National Rehabilitation Association Southeast Region Conference on May 16, before heading to Windsor, Conn., for another United States Postal Service presentation, May 18.
